Cross Country
Fri Jul 24 05:32pmThe school Cross Country is scheduled for next Friday 31st July 1pm-3pm.
All runners must have foot wear on.
School Photos Postponed
Tue Jul 21 05:45pmWith the school being closed on Thursday we have had to reschedule both the class and sports photos. There will not be any photos tomorrow or Thursday.
The rescheduled dates for the photos are 27th (Class and individual) and 28th (Sports) August.
School Closure - Thursday 23rd July

Following the tragic passing of one of our Year 11 students, Ricky Maitland, his funeral will be held on Thursday 23 July.
A significant number of our staff will be attending the funeral to pay their respects and support Ricky's whānau. As a result, we will not have sufficient staff available to safely operate the school.
On behalf of the Commissioner, I am advising that Onewhero Area School will be closed on Thursday 23 July 2026.
The school will reopen as normal on Friday 24 July, with classes resuming at the usual time.
We appreciate that this closure may cause some inconvenience for families, and we thank you for your understanding and support during what has been a very difficult time for our school community.
Our thoughts remain with Ricky's whānau, friends and all those affected by his passing.

Super Rugby AUPIKI: ALL IN Round : THIS Saturday 27th June at Navigation Homes Stadium, Pukekohe!
Wed Jun 24 09:45amWe’re excited to invite your school / rugby club to be part of a special occasion for women’s rugby in Aotearoa.
Super Rugby Aupiki: All In Round, taking place on Saturday 27th June at Navigation Homes Stadium, Pukekohe.
We’re aiming to create the biggest ever Super Rugby Aupiki crowd, bringing together rugby fans, families, schools, clubs, and the wider community for a double-header showcase featuring all four Aupiki teams.
This is a great opportunity for your students / players to experience elite women’s rugby up close and be part of a high-energy community event.
Match Day Details
Venue: Navigation Homes Stadium, Pukekohe
Date: Saturday 27th June
Key Timings:
· 4:15pm – Gates open
· 4:45pm – Chiefs Manawa v Hurricanes Poua
· 7:05pm – nib Blues v Matatū
Tickets
· Adults: $20
· Youth (12–16): $12
· Kids under 12: Free (ticket still required*)
*Orders must include at least one adult ticket
We’d love to see your school / club there in full support, helping create an incredible atmosphere and backing women’s rugby at its highest level in Aotearoa.
If you’d like, we can also help arrange group bookings or coordinate seating for teams attending together.
Reminder - Teachers Only Day this Friday 26th
Tue Jun 23 09:45amAs communicated in recent school newsletters and noted on the school calendar, this Friday is a Ministry of Education Teacher Only Day.
The school will be closed for instruction, and no school buses will be operating.
Our Year 1–8 teachers will be attending professional learning at Pukekawa School, where they will work alongside colleagues from Pukekawa Primary, Te Kohanga Primary, and Tuakau College to deepen their understanding of the new Mathematics Curriculum and support its implementation.
Our Year 9–10 teachers will remain on site, working within their learning areas to plan for the introduction of the refreshed curriculum in their subject areas from next year.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding. We appreciate that arranging supervision for children on these days can be challenging, and we are grateful for the efforts whānau make to support this important professional learning opportunity for our staff.

This is part of their NCEA course work for Commerce and they have a great range of goods and services that we hope our students will enjoy. It is cash only and coins are best. We hope we have lots of support for our young entrepreneurs!
