Junior School

Junior School Years 1 to 8 – Rooms 1 to 13

In Years 1 to 8, we have composite classes (two year levels together), where older students are encouraged to show leadership and support younger students.

Students typically remain in the same class for two years, allowing them to build strong relationships with their teacher and grow in confidence in their learning.

In Years 1–8, Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, and Health are taught by the classroom teacher.

In Years 1–6, Physical Education (PE), Technology, and the Arts are also included in the curriculum.

In Years 7 and 8, students begin to experience elements of high school. They attend specialist subject lessons for Technology, the Arts, PE, and Te Reo Māori.
