Social sciences Teacher (years 7 to 13)

Full time, fixed term, start date: 26 July 2021, end date: 10 December 2021 (Cover for a staff member who is acting in higher duties due to recruitment)

We have a great opportunity for a Social sciences teacher to join our Social sciences department to cover an employee who is acting in higher duties for term 3 and 4 this year.

Junior School Classroom Release Teacher

Permanent, part-time role – 0.8 FTTE, 4 days per week.

We are looking for a team player with a high level of energy that is flexible, resilient, adaptive and who has the ability to teach across all primary year levels on a school needs basis. The release will be varied but is likely to include CRT, Kahui Ako and team leader release.

The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding and passion for quality literacy and numeracy teaching and be a confident, fun loving professional who possesses essential skills to:

  • Develop ‘across school’ relationships and work collaboratively with staff throughout the school.
  • Teach NZ Curriculumwith sound curriculum knowledge (year 0 to 6).
  • Be adaptable and responsive in their teaching.

Our junior school is currently focusing on further developing student agency, play based learning and DMIC (Developing Mathematical Inquiry Communities), any strengths in these areas would be an advantage.
