ONEWHERO AREA SCHOOL - 25th August 2023

Principal's Message:

Kia ora e te whaanau,

Congratulations to the phenomenal First XV Rugby team for their triumphant final at Pukekohe stadium last Friday night! Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and we're incredibly proud of your achievement this season. The Under 14’s Rugby team also made their final and displayed perseverance and dedication this season. They went down 36-22 to Pukekohe High. It was an outstanding effort and I am sure they will be back to give it a go again next year.
A warm konnichiwa to our visiting Japanese students who have joined us for an exciting week of cultural exchange. I am sure they will enjoy all the activities we have planned for them, and our students will gain insight into Japanese culture. Let's make their stay unforgettable!

Don't forget to have your voice heard! Kindly complete the community check-in survey, which is an essential part of shaping our upcoming annual plan. Your input matters, and together we can make a difference. Click on the link to complete it: https://forms.gle/xdrnBJKwrgfUieLY6. Thank you to the families who have completed the survey to date, your ideas have been extremely helpful.
Please remember Friday, August 25th! It's a Teacher Only Day where our educators will immerse themselves in Universal Design for Learning professional development. This training will empower them to craft lessons that cater to diverse student needs, ensuring an enriching learning experience for all. Universal design philosophy has been incorporated into the design of the new NCEA standards and aligns with our school philosophy of supporting all students to succeed at school. Ag day Updates

Our training day last Friday was a real hit, with some very well behaved dogs, lambs and calves volunteering their skills, strutting their stuff! Many of our students came away with some great tips and tricks and it was excellent having the course setup to see this all working first hand. Thank you to the committee members and volunteers who helped make this happen. There are copies of the leading courses on the Onewhero Ag day Facebook page, but if you have any questions about this, we have a team of seasoned Ag Day experts ready on hand. Feel free to send questions to our email, or facebook page.
